Nigeria’s Chigozie Obioma Shortlisted For 2015 Man Booker Prize

Chigozie ObiomaNigerian author of The Fishermen, Chigozie Obioma has made the list of the 2015 Man Booker Prize. He was shortlisted alongside other authors such as Marlon James, Tom McCarthy, Sunjeev Sahota, Anne Tyler and Hanya Yanagihara. The shortlist was announced today, 15th of September by a panel of judges chaired by Princeton English professor, Michael Wood.

The Man Booker Prize stand as one of the richest in the world at US$50,000. The last African in running for the list was Noviolet Bulawayo in 2013.
