And they exceeded our expectations: They gave themselves first of all to the Lord , and then by the will of God also to us.” – 2 Corinthians 8:5
“God why me?” “What have I done to deserve this?” “God are you seeing all these happening to me?” These are few of the allegations we levy against God when our backs hit the wall as if God is our Mr Fix It and he is suppose to sit in heaven and just make sure everything go according to your own plan… Funny!
In the first place, God created us for His own glory and not the other way round – we creating God for our glory. Also, you don’t sit in the dumpster and expect a Holy God to come carry you if you do not want to be cleaned. God is not your ATM Machine where you only go when you need to and when you don’t get what you want, you blame the ATM company. You have to give yourself to Him because He already gave you everything when He gave His son.
He said in Ephesians 2:2 that we had walked according to the course of this world in time past displaying the characteristics of the spirit that walks in the children of disobedient so therefore, how do you want God to come to your rescue if you do not obey his will? He is a just God and He will never leave the righteous forsaken, also because he is just, he hates sin… Not the sinner and the wages produces death.
Now for the saints that are suffering in Christ, I want you to know that no chastining is pleasurable for the present but at the end, it will produce seed of peace and righteousness (Hebrews 12:11). Don’t be like the Children of Isreal when God led them out of Egypt and into the Wilderness of Sin where they began to grumble and spent 40 years on a journey that was to take 40 days. Make your request known to God with thanksgiving and when the storm passes, you would have become a more matured son of God. I decree over your life today that the worst days are over and your best days are here! Amen!
