“As a secular musician, in the Kwaito scene, I lived a life consumed by drugs and alcohol, a lifestyle that didn’t reflect the love for my family, for people and my God-given talent.

“I broke from the bondage of this lifestyle by turning to God’s word. My ultimate mission is to inspire, encourage and empower, by channelling a Higher Source through Gospel music.”

The journey into Gospel has seen JRoss pick up nominations and awards on a global scale, scoring five international nominations. In 2020 he walked away a proud (international artist of the year) winner of the Texas Gospel Music of Excellence Awards in the USA for the song Holy Spirit as well as the (Media choice of the year) of the Gospel Touch Music Awards in the UK for the song Overwhelmed by Your Grace.

His album, Scrolls, released in July 2021, with tracks that include Bawo Thixo, River of Life and Mpilo Yami, has earned him three nominations for the Gospel Choice Music Awards in Atlanta USA in the same year (2021).

As a musician that can transcend genres, his artistry has also seen him awarded locally, winning a South African Film and Television Award (SAFTA) for the best original score for the female prison TV drama Lockdown.

The Kasi Worship Concert (#KWC), is an offering of an artist that is about to take his audience on his journey of transformation, a melodic heartbeat declaration of not only JRoss’ gratitude to God but a message of hope, love, and restoration.

He will perform tracks from his award-winning album Scrolls as well as his latest release, Living in Praise, which features a collection of up-tempo and vibe songs.
