Nia-Cerise Conteh, who is a master’s student at Cambridge University reading Education, Arts and Creativity. Narrates her encounter with God and the Holy Spirit in her kitchen, which brought about a drastic change in her life.
She said she had always had the hunger and zeal for God and has also been on the hunt for the voice of God, stating how she would stay with her bible in her bed and her grandma will always pray for her.
Nia-Cerise Conteh said “I was never really discipled in my faith. I remember once speaking with a Catholic priest and he told me parts of the Bible were made up. I thought to myself: Well, if he doesn’t believe the Bible is real, why should I? “
Her pursuit for God grew so much, as she became more passionate about hearing the voice of God, which drove her to searching the wrong place for the voice of God, leading her to sought the help of witchcraft and idol worship.
“I got interested in crystals, enjoyed palm readings and even invited demons to live inside me. These things governed me; I could feel them in my body”, Nia-Cerise said.
The christian evangelist who used to love partying and taking alcohol revealed how the demons made her an addict to all of those things, and how it spoke to her, consistently telling her to hurt people.
“I would get extremely angry; it was really toxic,” she said. ” I was constantly sacrificing myself on the altar of other people’s opinions, trying to fit in and gain the approval of guys. When I was 16, I had a horrible encounter with an ex-partner who physically assaulted me. I began to think: Something needs to change.”
Nia-Cerise Conteh narrated how she had an encounter right there in the kitchen, while she and her friends where hanging out, she said: “Out of nowhere, a presence filled the whole room, and I said: “Can you feel that?” My friends replied: “Yeah. There’s this peace, this presence.” A burning conviction began to swell my heart that I was a sinner, that I was not going to heaven, that I was living a lie. This conviction was so strong I felt as if I was going to weep. I said out loud: “I’m never going to be the same again.” And my friends laughed at me because they didn’t believe it.
The lady from joy, expressed her gratitude towards God for his grace upon her life after he singled her out and retraced her steps back to God. Recalling how the the Holy Spirit helped her to realize Jesus is real and how she won’t ever forget her beautiful journey with God.
Nia said at the beginning of her journey with Christ, she had experienced several demonic oppression, due to her exposure of demonic practices.
“I was constantly being suffocated by demons every time I went to sleep, and that was really hard. I had to go into a time of extended prayer and fasting. The more I prayed and interceded, these things just lifted off because there’s nothing that’s more powerful than the name of Jesus Christ.
Nia who was a Catholic follower before she finally started attending a Spirit-filled Pentecostal church, described how God had put her in a journey to train her. She quoted “ You were being used by the enemy, now I’m going to use you ten times more for my kingdom.”
She also said there has never been a time she passed through temptation to fall back into what she was used to then and derail her from the path of Christ, revealing she has found what she has been in search for, “love” she said ; “You realise that the safety, protection, love and joy that you have in Christ outweighs everything.”
Nia-Cerise Conteh, who after receiving Jesus became so eager about preaching the gospel to everyone she knew and didn’t know. Saying the Holy Spirit had encouraged and strengthened her to carry out the work and instructed her to start through a YouTube channel to also share with others what she has encountered and her faith in God.
she would always pray telling God, “Please use my voice to touch many people so that they can know you,”. She recalled that not long after, Gkd began to open doors for her, she also said she had received several invites from churches around to UK to minister to them.
Nia also noted how God made a way to be trained for the work of God through Christ for all Nations, the ministry of the late evangelist Reinhard Bonnke, known as the ‘Billy Graham of Africa’.
She said, “The ministry sent me out to Tanzania to a region that was 90 percent Muslim. No preacher had ever done a crusade there, but we knew God wanted us to go. We went in with lots of prayer and saw more than 900 Muslims come to Christ Jesus.”
She recalled that a witch who was sent to come and disrupt the program and curse them, confessed and also gave her life to Christ that day. Nia-Cerese Conteh said “God, look at what you have done. In the places that are overlooked, in the places that people don’t want to go, your hand is on these places and you love these people so much. Thank you for sending us here.”
