Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end. He did not give up because of the cross! On the contrary, because of the joy that was waiting for him, he thought nothing of the disgrace of dying on the cross, and he is now seated at the right side of God’s throne.” – Hebrews 12:2
There is so much noise that can distract your commitment to doing the will of God but as long as you keep your eyes on God, you can be assured that He will see you through.
It is easy to get distracted by fear, challenges, empty promises that are painted to look enticing and more, the secret is to keep your eyes and heart on what God has said in His word. If you abide in God’s word, the power to do His will be released onto you such that your level of commitment due to your intake of the word will shock even you!
The story is told by Bob Gass – author of “Word for Today” – of his friend’s dog whose father always place a food in front of the dog then say to the dog “No.” He said the dog never touches the food but he never takes his eyes away from his master as well. That way, the temptation to eat the food is put under check.
So also we as believers must keep our eyes on Jesus, this is the only way to do God’s will.
