DAILY BREAD: WELCOME TO YOUR COUNTRY!!

“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God” – John 3:3

Being a citizen of God’s kingdom and having a right to the common wealth of heaven has to be the same way any one becomes a citizen of any other nation. You have to be born into the nation.

Think about it, although there are various means of becoming a citizen of a country, the majority of the populace became citizen by naturalization, that is by birth.

It is the same with God’s Kingdom, you can only become a citizen by birthright. This is why Jesus told Nicodemus no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. That is, he has to be born into the kingdom, just like he was born into this world.

Now, being born into the kingdom, like being born into this world, has its own process too. One has to die with Christ and be raised with him – Baptism. You die to the old ways and to the flesh and be raised up into a new life, into the kingdom. You also have to be born of the spirit, without the spirit, there is not enough fuel for the fire.

I said yesterday during the “Sunday Morning Coffee With Jesus” lesson that Jesus’ message is of the Kingdom and the “born again” message is the process of becoming a citizen of the kingdom. If you are going to be a citizen of God’s Kingdom and you want to have the real “life” experience, so as to also enjoy the common wealth of Heaven, then this is an inevitable process. It is the only way to have access to life. Are you born again? Are you a citizen of God’s Kingdom? If not, then recite the next paragraph with me:

“Lord, You said if I confess with my mouth “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in my heart that God raised him from the dead, I will be saved, I confess and believe these today. I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, Hallelujah, I am saved. Amen.”
