-Defamation Of Mercy Chinwo – Court Summons Five Person
Gospel artiste, Mercy Chinwo and her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa have both filed a Direct Criminal Complaint against five persons for Criminal Defamation through their lawyers.
The Abuja chief magistrate have summoned the five persons over their derogatory post, published against the gospel singer.
The five defendants who are to appear before the court on the April 23, 2024 are Okoronkwo Ejike, Kingsley Ibeh, DJ Spoiltkid, Terrence Ekot, and Samuel Agozie.
According to Solomon Buchi, a Christian influencer, he stated that he spoke to Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, Mercy’s husband. He revealed after the conversation with the pastor that he filed a direct criminal complaint through his attorneys, led by Pelumi Olajengbesi, Esq., accusing the five of criminal defamation.

Mercy Chinwo’s husband stated that the act carried out was an intentional dissemination of harmful false information, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking.
This also comes after Pastor Nathaniel Bassey filed a petition to the IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, requesting that an investigation is carried out over the four people for allegedly engaging in criminal defamation and cyberstalking against him.
Nathaniel Bassey’s lawyers also stated the gravity of what they had done with such false accusation, which could harm him as a person and also damage his reputation as a minister of the gospel.
