-Gospel Event Should Be Free – Pastor Abraham Lamptey Says

Ghanaian clergyman, Abraham Lamptey, has revealed that gospel event should not have a tag price and should be free of charge.

During a conversation with Graphic Showbiz at the launch of his annual event, Art of Worship, the leader of Believers House of Worship International stated that such event should not be profit driven as God does not have a tag prize.

Acknowledging that some others go about putting a prize tag on their event, he is of the opinion that events focused on connecting with God and acknowledging His blessings should offer free entry.

He stated, “The identity of the artist doesn’t matter. If the event’s purpose is to establish a connection with God for the remarkable things He has done, then admission should be free. Putting a price tag on God is not appropriate, and asking patrons to pay would be wrong. I’ve been organizing Art of Worship for 16 years, and it has always been free.”

Abraham Lamptey’s stance tends to be largely misunderstood, therefore causes a debate among Christians.

Reacting and responding to the comment made by the clergyman, renowned gospel artisteSonnie Badu said;

“I definitely think the man of God was misinterpreted. First of all, the minimum fee charged is to pay bills. Since you struggle to get sponsors-unless you have major financial supporters, then you can do it for free.

“Again, I think the man of God was mis-quoted; because even church buildings are not given for free.

“Again, I think the man of God was misquoted, because the gospel is free but losgistics are not…

“Another reason why I think the man of God was misquoted is because – bibles are being sold in the shops …

“With this being said, I urge Christian CEOs to support gospel artist especially in GHANA ..

“If Ghanaian pastors can match what Nigerian pastors do; you will be amazed at how many talents Ghana has.”
