MzVeeAward winning Ghanaian singer MzVee has said that  Gospel musicians who look down upon other genres of music are hypocrites.

In an interview on ‘This Is Gospel’ with Franky 5 on Hitz FM, the Lynx Entertainment signed artiste whose real name is  Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda posited that these Gospel artistes are hypocrites because the church wasn’t made for pure people.

“If a gospel person looks down on anybody else because they are not the way they are, those are hypocrites,” she said.

“If you want people to quote the Bible for you and say they are Christians, that doesn’t make sense because the church wasn’t made for pure people, God said let the sinners come to the church,” she said

“If you are somebody who is fronting Christ (or) fronting Christianity and you are looking down on people because you feel they are dirty; you can’t look down on people, then you are a hypocrite,” the singer stressed.

Despite the position, MzVee, however, stated she has not met any Gospel musician who looked down upon her because of the type of songs she does.

She also revealed that, she cannot listen to Gospel songs that are full of words of sorrow. Rather, she enjoys Gospel songs which give reverence and appreciation to God.
