Rapper/Singer Mali Music performed his track “Beautiful” live on “American Idol some few days ago and the single sales have skyrocketed overnight landing him in the No. 2 spot on the R&B charts. He was introduced by J.Lo who poured much accolade on him saying she fell in love with his music when she came across it. Apparently, the performance created more awareness for the singer/rapper.
There were talks about Mali Music leaving the Gospel Music scene for Secular but after the beautiful performance on American idol and the way the Gospel greats such as Yolanda Adams, Deitrick Haddon and more came out to encourage him, one will doubt the multi-talented artiste’s exit from the Gospel scene.
Jamaal “Mali Music” Pollard was born on January 12, 1988 in Phoenix, AZ. The Savannah based singer, songwriter, producer is breaking out of conventional gospel music. Mali Music began playing piano at age 5 and wrote his first song at age 8 and has been actively pursuing his music ministry and career ever since adding acoustic guitar and electric bass to his instrumental proficiency. Mali Music serves as Minister of Music at Faith on the Move Ministries and though he remains unrestricted as a musician and artist, his passion lies in creating powerful, effective Christian lifestyle music that crosses genres and seeps to the core of people.
