and hope doesn’t disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” – Romans 5:5
Can you rejoice in tribulation? Even the idea sounds crazy. How can one be in pain and be happy that he is in pain?
God’s plan is to use test and trials to develop us so whenever you are faced with circumstances that you can’t understand, if God is in it with you, then rejoice because you will come out better, wiser, healthier and wealthier.
He qualified it as “our light affliction” because really Christ already took the chunk of it. The ones we face help us develop perseverance which in turn develops our character. Quality character helps us to be disciplined and focus. Like a soldier whose focus is only on victory. And because Christ already won for us, those challenges have expiry date! They are just waiting till then to be defeated! Hope never disappoints because God gave His son… He’s our hope.
