The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) City of David parish, has announced the new development in the church as regards the leadership.

The church announced Pastor Charles Kpandei has taken over from Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, who served the church for many years.

You would recall that Iluyomade was suspended by the Governing Council of the church after a panel was constituted to look into the allegations against him and the parish.

A top pastor RCCG who preferred to be anonymous said the decision to suspend Iluyomade is a response to the public outcry against the extravagant birthday party of his wife shortly after the death of the then Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank, Herbert Wigwe.

However the church is currently undergoing an audit by KPMG, an external auditing firm, to ensure transparency and accountability in the church’s financial dealings.

This decision was made by the church in order to ensure the church is committed to good governance and be able to address concerns that may have been raised by the suspension of Pastor Iluyomade.

Pastor Charles who is a well renowned clergy, is set to bring stability and ensure the church keeps matching on.

He was also captured delivering his first sermon at the church yesterday, June 9th, 2024.

The church which is one of the most influential churches, is prepared to committing itself to total transparency.
