– Bishop Oyedepo releases N650m for road repairs

Reports have it that Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church also called Winners’ Chapel has released N650 million for the repair of roads.

The repairs will cover the old toll gate bordering Lagos and Ogun States as well as stretches of the Idi-Iroko expressway from Oju Ore to Iyana Iyesi and Sango.

The Winners’ Chapel embarked on the project as worshippers and other road users have had terrible experiences along the road to the border, Agbara and other towns.

It is the biggest single intervention of the church which has at other times embarked on the reconstruction of roads leading to the Canaanland.

Following the announcement, there has been mixed feedback on social media has expected

Social media enthusiast and Gospel singer Sammy Warepamor reacting to the news said:

“So Bishop Oyedepo approved N650m to repair bad roads what govt is supposed to do. Pastors&churches are doing lots of great&commendable things in our society. Lets appreciate and applaud them,if Buhari passes road i’m very sure he wont fix it,even OBJ’ school is on that same road.”

Its funny how twitter was quiet yesterday after hearing that Bishop Oyedepo approved N650m to repair bad roads. Y’all didn’t trend it cause God forbid a Pastor does a good thing. The ones that tweeted were saying ts for his own good. Papa buys a new private jet! World for end,” Ada Beke tweeted.

While some are applauding the gesture by Winners Chapel and Bishop Oyedepo, others are of the opinion that it goes without saying as that should be the duty since the church takes tithe and offering. Boboye AK tweeted:

To be fair, Bishop Oyedepo isn’t paying to fix the road. You are.”

“[Bishop] Oyedepo wants to invest N650m to repair the road leading to his church. Very commendable investment, at least people do not need to suffer bad road when coming to his church to make donations. He also bought a N2.5billion Helicopter just to evade traffic. Wow This man is trying,” @Ultimate_Kombo tweeted
