American actor, best known for portraying Jesus Christ in the 2004 film The Passion Of The Christ, Jim Caviezel is set to star as St. Luke in the new film about Apostle Paul.
The movie which is scheduled to be released in 2018 will be shot majorly in Malta. The movie is been produced by Sony Pictures through its faith-based Affirm Films label.
The movie is written and directed by Andrew Hyatt . Producers are David Zelon and T.J. Berden .
The story covers the life of Paul as portrayed by Game Of Throne star James Faulkner. Speaking on the movie, Affirm Films Executive Vice President Rich Peluso said:
“This gripping film dives deep into the final months before Paul’s execution under Nero as he reconciles his faith with his past persecution of the church.
“Next to Jesus, no one played a more central role in the growth of the early church than the Apostle Paul, He wrote a vast swath of the New Testament and traveled more than 10,000 miles by foot to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. ” added Rich Peluso.
The movie titled “Paul, Apostle of Christ” is slated to release in 2018 through Affirm Films.
