While the social media went agog about Pastor E A Adeboye’s retirement as the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), on Saturday, a letter surfaced where the General Overseer indicated that he was only stepping down as the National Overseer while he oversees the global affairs of the church.
In the letter, the clergy explains the need to step down as the National Overseer and also unveiled the new leadership structure for the church in Nigeria, explaining that he would remain the overall leader of the denomination worldwide.
The new decision was informed by a new policy in line with legal requirements set up by the Financial Regulations Council, guiding all registered churches, mosques, and CSOs.
