It’s has been really difficult trying to determine the SelahAfrik Top 10 Gospel music  releases of 2016 due to the fact that there were so many great releases this year. However, the job has to be done, therefore after a careful selection with contribution from various Gospel music enthusiasts, we present to you the SelahAfrik Top 10  Single Releases of 2016.

The selection is based on the expertise, presentation, reception and acceptability of the work in review.

1. Way Maker – Sinach


A good artiste can have one great song, it takes a great artiste to churn out a greater song which each new release. Sinach’s newest songs are always greater than the previous no matter how huge the previous release has been, add that to the anointing and you will have a clue why she is such a great Gospel music minister.


2. Onishe Iyanu – Nathaniel Bassey


The song is some only some few months old but will give any other popular single a run for its money. Off the album “This God is too Good” released in October 2016, the single was released alongside “The Blood” off the same album.


3. Jehovah Ebenezer – Onos


While we await another epic album from Onos who has revealed the title of the forthcoming album, she gives us a peek of what to expect from the album. Judging from the single, “Songs from the Place of Prayer” will be a very huge album! “Jehovah Ebenezer” brings what matter into perspective as one comes into a better appreciation of God Almighty

A relatively new single, released in May of 2016 but has garnered over 2 million views on Youtube… little wonder it has become a viral sensation!


5. Yahweh (Jesus) – Ada

Uber talented and one of the most marketable brand of Gospel music, Ada is a natural when it comes to churning out spirit-filled urban/contemporary Gospel music without compromising the belief. “Yahweh (Jesus)” is one of those kind of songs you would never have guessed its thematic structure could fit into an uptempo instrumentation but Ada is not your average artiste!


6. Spreading Everywhere – Frank Edwards

During his birthday, Frank Edwards released a couple of singles which followed the “Frankincense” album. While almost any song from the maestro could make the list of the top 2016 song, “Spreading Everywhere” stands out as one of those songs to definitely make the top of the playlist any giving time.


7. Manifest Your Power – Chris Shalom

Chris Shalom makes the best sing-along worship songs! Following in the trend of “Power Belong to You”, the man with the Golden Voice as fondly called, dropped “MYP” in June of 2016, with 13,000+ plays on the audio excluding downloads, add to the fact that the single has infiltrated praise and worship session in the church, “MYP” is definitely one of the top 10 releases of 2016.


8. Kneel Down – Mike Abdul


Mike Abdul keeps evolving his sound and in 2016, we witness yet another phase. Not only does the Gospel Fuji cum Urban Gospel artiste gave a lot of Christian rappers a run for their money, he does it with such impeccable excellence you would have wondered why he wasn’t rapping before now!


9. Ahaa – Tim Godfrey


An exceptional single, a mix of Trap Music and conventional worship, laced with Afrocentric vibes, Tim Godfrey sure hit a home run with this one!


10. Miracle God – Toluwanimee

It’s high time the Mindustry created an elbow room for Toluwanimee. With critically acclaimed singles after singles, “Miracle God” makes it to our 2016 list of the Top 10 single releases.
