Best 16 Of 2016: Who’s Got The Hottest Gospel Music Video Anyways?!

Gospel Music Video

This year has witness lots of Gospel music video releases and one may not even realize the number till you actually sit to compile. We want to give a special shout out to the directors – Uvi Orogun, T.Frizzle of Frizzle and Bizzle Films, Akin Alabi, Lexten, Tolucci, to mention a few, for putting the Gospel on the map this year with amazing videos!

So who’s got the best Gospel music video? How about we let you decide.

Sinach – Waymaker

Seems the song “Waymaker” is the song of the year making 2 lists so far as we count down the songs that made the year. Sinach left no stone unturned as the popular song got an excellent video to complement the effort.

Ada – Only You

Enjoying massive airplay on major stations including Hip TV and Trace TV, there’s no doubt Ada pumped in major sounds into our ears and gave the eyes beauty to behold with amazing videos this year!

Tim Godfrey – Ahaa

The only surprising thing will be for Tim Godfrey to compromise standard! For a while now, there is yet to be a music video from the Gospel minister that did not catch attention. With a title as “Ahaa”, you had better paid attention!

Oluwashalom – Eledumare

Beautiful voice and excellent presentation are few of the features that describe OluwaShalom. “Eledumare” is a classic and the video complemented the effort well.

Jahdiel – Uwese

The creative use of props and costumes makes “Uwese” by Jahdiel one of the most outstanding videos of 2016. The dance and ambiance… super cool! Kudos Frizzle and Bizzle!

Mike Abdul – Korede

mike abdul - korede, album, Album Review Korede Mike

Spaghetti Records ain’t playing this year and neither is Mike Abdul. “Korede” is the title track of the sophomore album from the Midnight Crew artiste. The video amplified the message expressed in the title track. It would have been great if the Phantom was actually on set nevertheless, the video is a great effort.

Toluwanimee – Miracle God

Shot by Uvi Orogun, you need to follow the story line from the very beginning, not just where the music begins to fully grasp the video. Simple plot with a strong message and excellently interpreted. Toluwanimee is very expressive changing her demeanor to suit the scenes and boy! She can sing!

Henrisoul – Onyeoma

Henrisoul’s videos are always top notch and with a simple but highly creative video for Onyeoma”, the Urban Gospel artiste is saying he is not about to back down. Shot by Frizzle and Bizzle, “Onyeoma” is a one-take video without a cut from start to finish, of course we know the post production will cut and paste but you get the drill right? Awesome work and one of the most creative work this year!

Eloho – Alive

Three words – ‘Alive is Alive! A very lively work by Aberdeen based Gospel music minister Eloho to usher in her new album “Unrestrained” (which is one of the best albums this year). The bright colours and the disposition is a plus to the theme of the video.

Samsong – Turn Me Around

The things that makes a video spectacular does not always have to do with the technical aspects, sometimes, its the little details such as coordination, routine and the likes. Samsong’s video is all that and more. The camera angles and movements are also epic!

Enkay – Yes You are the Lord

Enkay’s “Yes You are the Lord” is growing on fans rapidly and so is the video. A depiction of the mightiness of God as expressed by the lyrics and perfectly captured by Uvi Orogun.

Isabella – Jesus Be Lifted Higher

The only way not to get Isabella to make headlines is to if she does  not sing! Afterall, they don’t call her the Lady of Songs for nothing! Simple, beautiful and classic make up some of the features of the video for “Jesus Be Lifted Higher”

A’dams – Hello Hello

I knew from the on set that A’dam was going to do great and once again, my predictions about another Spaghetti Records artiste hits the mark. “Hello Hello” has an unconventional approach and very interesting to watch. Awesome work by Lexten.

Glowreeyah Braimah – Miracle Worker

Trust Glowreeyah to make an excellent use of props and colours… add that to the story line and the video for “Miracle Worker” pops up on the list.

Joepraize – Unchangeable

With 2 million plus views, “Unchangeable” is not just a popular song but a popular 2016 video as well but trust Joepraize to have something trending every year!

Winter – Lamb Upon the Throne

Let’s take a minute to talk about Winter’s “Lamb Upon the Throne” video. It’s not every time a Gospel rapper reaches such depth… and geez! Cyude did a great work in driving the message home! Winter’s “Lamb Upon the Throne” didn’t just reach the depth, the visual interpretation is also very emotional. Winter brought the God-man into perspective and you can actually partake in the pain He went through just because of love. This is a great video and Winter deserves accolade for such a great work! Kudos!
