BET has announced that Bobby Jones Gospel is entering its final season in the coming year, with the show’s host and creator, Dr. Bobby Jones, age 75, retiring from the historic program. The show enters its 35th and Final Season with this upcoming season.
Bobby Jones Gospel is the longest-running original program in cable TV, having first premiered in January of 1980. There is no word as to whether BET will be working to deliver a similar gospel music-based morning show.
