SPOTLIGHT'S ON: FERNANDO ALVAREZ – THE WORSHIP MACHINE

I met an interesting personality last weekend during the Kingdom Global Conference which was held at Planet One, Maryland, Lagos. Fernando Alvarez had accompanied the main speaker of the conference Dr Larry Titus (Author of Teleios Man) to Nigeria.

Prior to his arrival, I had been listening to his CDs and there was no doubt the gentleman is a worshiper but nothing beat thrill of seeing Fernando in a performance. His dexterity with the instruments and vocal prowess is exceptional. I find it particularly amazing how Fernando take the same instrument you are accustomed to and maximizes its potential turning it into a fiery sound blaring musical instrument. The energy cannot be resisted. Fernando is also very Jovial. He doesn’t have to know you to get along with you. My first encounter with him, Fernando waved to me from across the hall even before we got introduced to each other.

Talking about his trip to Nigeria, Fernando said,

“It’s my first time in Africa but I love it here. Such beautiful people everywhere.”

After an evening service where Fernando played to some African medley and vibes, I tried to quiz him about how he managed to pull it off although the music wasn’t in his familiar territory, he said:

“Everytime I go to a new place, I always try to step aside to observe the culture and the trend, then I ask the Holy Spirit for help, by the time I get back to the music, I’m already synced!”

Fernando who said he has been travelling since he was 14 has been ministering for about 20 years now. He is the Founder and Director of Rendered Heart International. He was called to shape and form his generation with the unique message that burns in his heart. Working with various recognizeable ministries, he travels in the United States and International leading worship and teaching the word of God in churches, conferences and massive transformational events .

“God’s Word is guaranteed to prosper in the purpose for which He sends it and using His word is the only way I know that each message and song will accomplish what God wants to do in this time! I am committed to creating an energetic atmosphere of love and community where people can encounter God by His supernatural power! Looking back on my life, I can now see that God was weaving together all of my experiences in life to create the fabric of who I am today. I was stripped of all to become the man that He created me to be – and that’s a process that is continually working itself out in my life, our ministry, and I want to exemplify a “Rendered Heart” to my generation.” Fernando Alvarez said.

He has two albums to his credit:

King of Heaven reveals our identity in Christ through worship. “I Run to You” is my favourite track for the album.

Rendered Heart on the other hand is the passionate sound of this generation. It is a glimpse of what we shall be doing before our heavenly Father when we finally go to meet him. According to Fernando, It is the sound of heaven on the earth.

Buttressing on the message of the Rendered Heart, Fernando, in a video sighted the book of Malachi Chapter 4 with emphases on verse 6, that the heart of the father will return to the sun and vice vassal.
