I’m currently reading Joyce Meyer’s “Power of a simple prayer”. She talks about the “just” kind of prayer where we want just this or just that from God mostly because we feel we don’t need to bother Him for much. I used to be that kind of person, the kind who didn’t have lots of prayer requests or stuff I needed. Somewhere at the back of my mind, God was proud of me for not being too needy or wanting too much but I was wrong.
Gods plans for us are stuff we can’t even fathom. He wants us to have ALL and provide for us from His riches. He has blessed us with ALL spiritual blessings. He wishes above all things that we prosper. Does that sound like a God who will be okay with “just” prayers? If He could give His son for us then what good thing will He withhold?
We need to get over being worried about God and realize that He is eager to give and is just waiting for us to ask. It hurts Him when you “cut down” your requests forgetting His budget is unlimited! All you need do is ask and believe and watch Him give you even more than you thought you could have. So no more “just” prayers or trying to get by, your father created the heavens and the earth, sent His son all for you, He’s eager to give you more! Go ahead and ask!
