OBSERVING THE QUIET TIME [HOW TO BE BLESSED BY GOD]

0

“The man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it – he will be blessed in what he does.”
– James 1:25 [NIV]

I said yesterday that being in the house of God everyday does not mean we are all called to be a “Samuel” (although, some of us are), but carrying God along everyday. I mentioned that this is how to get blessed by the Lord.

God promises to bless your life if you meet with him every day. We all need a “quiet time.” The beautiful thing about the “quiet time” is that the duration may sometimes not be as significant as the quality of it. Afterall, quality time cannot be measured in longevity.

Another thing quiet time with God does for an individual is that it prunes you to maturity. Also, those very minutes you spent are the life changing moment of your life, not those beautiful events that will thereafter happen. You are at your best when you are in God’s presence.

You need to set a date with God every day where you say, “God, I’m checking in with you. Anything you want to do in my life today, anything you want to tell me.” Just sit there and be quiet. Read the Bible a little bit, talk about whatever is worrying you, unload your burdens, and listen for God’s direction.

Psalms 31:19 says “You have stored up great blessings for those who honor you. You do so much for those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world” …wow!
